Brylee, age 2
Anyone suffering from double
vision?? We think we might be! In just the first week of June, we’ve taken in
three pairs of Goldens. Sister and brother
Mandy and
When a friendly pair of Goldens bustled into the Good Samaritan’s garage on May
29, it seemed obvious they’d just escaped from a backyard close by. Or maybe
they belonged to someone visiting from out of town over the Memorial Day
holiday; or maybe their family was away for the long weekend, and a baby sitter
had let them get out? With their shiny fur, trimmed paws, newish collars, and
overall healthy look, they just HAD to belong to someone. The finders promptly
popped the dogs into the car and took a slow drive around the neighborhood,
fully expecting to see an anxious owner looking up and down the street. Nobody.
Later that evening, they repeated the performance, this time walking the
boy-and-girl pair and knocking on doors; but nobody had ever seen the dogs
before. Next up was a trip to the vet to check for microchips (nope), postings
on Craigslist and Man & Beast, and calls to every vet and shelter within a 5- to
10-mile radius. Nothing.
And that’s how Brylee and her pal Bowan came to GRR… after completing a stray
hold at the shelter.
At around two or three years old, caramel-gold Brylee has all the zip and energy
you’d expect of a young Golden. “She’s a live wire!” said our GRR intake
volunteer. Weighing in at a healthy 62 pounds, she should be all ready for her
new family just as soon as she recovers from her spay surgery.
We’ll have more details on Brylee’s personality soon!
