Does this sweet girl have the perfect name? All you have to do is read the (Golden) Girl Scout Law to know that the answer is YES:

I will do my best to be

honest and fair,

friendly and helpful,

considerate and caring,

courageous and strong, and

responsible for what I say and do,

and to:

respect myself and others,

respect authority,

use resources wisely,

make the world a better place, and

be a sister to every Golden!

That sounds just like a Golden—and like THIS Golden in particular! Honest and fair? Of course. “Be yourself” is Miss Scout’s motto. She wants everyone to love her just the way she is. (And that’s easy to do.)   Friendly, considerate, and caring? Always! Especially to children. “She is wonderful with my 6- and 9-year-old girls,” says her foster mom. Courageous and strong? You bet. She had to be a toughie to leave her home and brave that scary shelter.

As for respecting herself, and authority too, Scout quickly realized that her GRR evaluator and her foster mom were there to help, and decided to cooperate with them fully. That means she is politely staying off the furniture; sleeping through the night; not indulging in excessive barking; and standing still as a statue for every minute of her bubblebath (which she seemed to enjoy immensely). And talk about using resources wisely! A charter member of the clean plate club, Scout clearly does not believe in waste!

As as far as making the world a better place, well, that’s what most Goldens do all day, every day, just by being there for their families—by providing a listening ear, a winning smile, a good laugh, and loving companionship. There’s no doubt that Scout is going to make YOUR world a better place, too. “She always comes when called, she gives kisses, she loves love, and she will rest her head on your lap and look into your eyes. She is so sweet,” says foster mom.

Scout was surrendered to the shelter when her owner’s allergy issues proved too much to manage. Scoutie was worried and anxious in her kennel (not surprisingly), but now that she’s in her foster home, she’s a happy pup again. The vet pronounced her a healthy girl  with just a few, easy-to-address issues: she needs to streamline her plump form by about ten pounds; she has ear infections which we’re treating right now; and she needs a tooth cleaning. The date is already set to polish up those pearly whites and remove a little mole from her face at the same time. She’ll look even prettier than she already does!

Foster mom says, “Scout would be perfect for a family with children to give her lots of attention. She’s an outgoing girl with the perfect energy level – not too high, not too low (she loves her walks, and my 9-year-old can walk her). She loves to cuddle & just keep her family company.”
