Bronx and his lady-friend Karley (already adopted!) were well-known figures at the shelter, thanks to their habit of slipping out of their backyard and roaming the neighborhood. Sometimes they made it back to their own front door before the law caught up with them, and sometimes they had to spend a night or two in the pokey before returning to their registered address. However… two bored yard dogs can always put their heads together and figure out a means of escape, so it wouldn’t be long before the two law-breakers were at it again!

Finally, the owners decided to relinquish ownership, so the cheerful pair became Gold Ribbon dogs on December 14th.

Rambunctious & sweet, Bronx has settled right into his foster home. Foster mom gives this report:

This dog is AWESOME!!! His tail is a lethal weapon - wags all the time & his whole rear end goes with it. This is most definitely not an alpha dog. In fact, you can really can tell he has been around other dogs, as he fit in immediately with my four. No "smack-talking" from Phineas: in fact, they are lying side-by-side right now as I write this. Starting from the very first night, he slept through the night at the foot of my bed, ate his dinner right beside the other pups, and if he could, he would spend the rest of his time sitting in your lap! He walked right past our two cats, Salome & Sweetie (so now we know he is cat friendly).

Bronx will make a wonderful pet IF someone can ensure he doesn't get out. Old habits die hard and since he’s used to breaking out and roaming, it will take a while to cure him of that tendency. You need to be sure gates are ver secure, & that he can’t pop through an opened door past you; and we’ve taken to closing the laundry room door before opening the garage door as another precaution, since he likes to "hang out" by the door if he knows you are leaving.

He doesn't walk well on a leash (pulls a lot) but I know that will improve.

Oh, we even made cookies his first night, had them cooling on the table & not one dog attempted to steal anything. They were all underfoot hoping something would fall to the floor, but were basically good doggies!
