Goldilocks
#12-169 Goldilocks, age 3 1/2
Weight: 75 pounds
It’s a problem all year round, but especially at holiday time: “Our shelter is
busting at the seams. We are WAY overcrowded. I am e-mailing you because we have
an AWESOME Golden Retriever in need here. She is as gentle as the day is long.
She gets along great with other dogs, too! Any help you can offer in springing
this wonderful girl will be greatly appreciated.”
Next stop, the GRR vet! Along with all the usual tests and shots, a bath was
high on the list, because those golden locks were badly in need of a shampoo and
deep-conditioning treatment! A few days later, Goldilocks was spayed, sudsed,
smelling sweet and ready for foster care. “She’s no stranger to riding in a
vehicle,” observed our volunteer. “Rides politely in the back and doesn’t try to
assist with steering.”
Miss Goldi is heartworm negative, much to our delight, but she does need to be
treated for intestinal parasites – and she should be all clear in a matter of a
few weeks. Just in time to don a great big satin bow, and arrive under some
lucky family’s Christmas tree!
More to come on Goldilocks, including photos, as she gets settled into her
foster home.
