Ranger
#12-162 Ranger, age 1 1/2
Weight: 50 pounds
Ranger is already matched to his forever home, but we
know you’ll enjoy reading about his adventures so far:
“We’ve coined a new phrase in the household already: Ranger Danger! It means
that Ranger is approaching his water bowl. He flips his outside bowl right over,
and when he takes a drink indoors, he turns the bowl into a fountain that would
put the Bellagio in Las Vegas to shame! We have to keep about 3 towels nearby,
because water just goes everywhere. We are hoping this is a sign that he is a
swimmer like our other Golden, Piper.”
Yes, nothing like a young Golden boy to add some supercharged energy (and a lot
of mopping) to the home! Ranger wound up stray at a local shelter, and when
nobody showed up to claim him, he came to GRR. After a short stay at the vet for
neuter surgery, it was on to his foster home. Foster mom comments that, given
Ranger’s peppy nature, keeping him calm during his ten-day post-op period
is proving pretty much impossible. “We are very much looking forward to his
stitches coming out this coming Saturday!”
Ranger “does not appear to have a mean or aggressive bone in his hyper little
body.” He is getting along fine with his Golden friend Piper, and as for the
cats, “he’s still pretty curious… he hasn’t chased them, but he does like to get
really close and sniff, which has earned him a few swats!”
In the photo, you see Ranger on Thanksgiving night: “It is the only photo we
have so far that is not a blur of fur! In the photo Piper is passed out cold on
my lap, but as you can see from Ranger's expression, he is still wide awake.
What you can't tell from this picture is it is almost midnight, and out of
sight of the photo is our game room where our friends and family are
singing karaoke. So further proof that Ranger is a people dog (or deaf!). We
are really enjoying this goofy guy.’
