Brody
Brody, age 2
“Nice 2-year-old intact
male, not up to date on vaccinations, good with other dogs, good with kids –
reason I know this is he was picked up stray, owners surfaced but did not want
him back because ‘he keeps getting out and destroying the neighbor’s property.’
He’s ready to go today.”
In his short stay at the
pound, young Brodie had already acquired quite the fan club: he was best buds
with the whole staff, from the kennel techs to the director. This is the kind of
dog people think about when they think about a typical Golden! – happy-go-lucky,
friendly, engaging. And smart! Our GRR volunteer had noticed a scraped area on
Brodie’s nose, and wondered where that came from. Well, mystery solved—“They had
unlocked the padlock on his kennel door & he promptly figured out how to push
the latch up with his snout and come strolling on out. Make sure whoever fosters
him has locks on all gates or he will be gone!”
Brodie tested heartworm negative at the vet’s – and that means no “stay” on his
adoption prospects! After the obligatory ten-day post-neuter exercise
restriction period, he’ll be ready to go. He’s a healthy, bouncy, handsome
teenager who will bring a lot of fun to any household looking to add an active
young Golden to the family. Obedience training will be a blast for everyone:
Brodie will learn to put his busy mind to more acceptable tasks than bursting
out of closed gates, and his family will be rewarded with a great dog who knows
just how to behave in any social situation.
