Dodge
Dodge, age 1
Little Dodge is already matched up to his new
home, but we like to give all our GRR dogs a spot on our website! So here’s his
story:
“Couldn’t Help Myself!!”
was the heading of the e-mail—after first declining Dodge because of his
not-100%-Golden status (that tiny size! Those short little ears!), our Intake
Director turned around, zoomed back to the shelter and nabbed the engaging
youngster for GRR (that solid gold personality! That “Everyone’s my friend”
attitude!). “I really liked him lots and I just could not put him back in the
kennel and walk away.”
Dodge certainly enjoyed
being a free dog; he greeted his new foster pals with a wagging tail and a
series of play bows. “Great body language,” said foster mom admiringly.
At just around 40 pounds
now, Dodge will likely weigh no more than 50 pounds when full grown—and it just
so happened that there was a family looking for a smaller-size fellow. To them,
“almost Golden” was close enough! Happy endings for everyone!
