Buddy, age 5
AVAILABLE SOON![]()
“He has a very serious face, but he is so loving.
Just seems to appreciate every kindness, no matter how small—a pat, a
treat… everything is the best!”
Buddy began his heartworm treatment on October 1, and so far, so
good. If all goes according to plan, this sweet boy will be ready for his new
home right around Thanksgiving. He may have been an escape artist in his
original home, but now that he’s GRR dog, he is clearly happy as a clam to be an
indoor pet! He’s completely housebroken, and crate-trained, too (though he’s
also fine loose in the house). Buddy counter surfs sometimes (“the other dogs
put him up to it!” says foster mom), but overall he is very calm and
well-behaved.
Though he’s a somewhat shy fellow, Buddy will play sometimes with
his canine housemates. The felines he mostly ignores: “if cats are in the living
area, he doesn’t mess with them.”
Buddy arrived in GRR care with runny eyes, a rough coat, and
intestinal worms. The worms are gone, his eyes are clear, and his coat is
improving with good-quality food and vitamin supplements. He’s handsomer by the
day!
Buddy’s good on lead, good in the car, a good sleeper through the
night… are you getting the idea that this is a very good dog? “He is so sweet, I
know he is going to find a home quickly and be a great member of that family.”
The volunteer who transported him commented that he’s a
sweetheart. Unfortunately, he does have heartworms, so he’ll be in foster care
for a while. We’re hoping for some updated information on Buddy from the foster
family soon. Stay tuned…
