Katie-Bell
Katie-Belle, age 6 /2
Housebroken.
Not current on vaccinations.
They did not get the dog from a shelter.
Blind in one eye; no other health issues mentioned.
Playful, friendly & mellow.
Good with men, women & children.
Lives both indoors & outdoors.
She likes big dogs, small dogs & cats.
When you are home, this dog tends to follow you around & be in the same room
with you.
A sweet and easygoing senior gal, Miss Katie Belle has a past
shrouded in mystery! The owners who turned her over to the shelter had only had
her for two short months, and it’s anybody’s guess where she lived before then.
Wherever she was, though, she learned to like and trust everyone. She has a kiss
for the children, plenty of time to play with her dog pals (and she only barks
if someone else does!), and a polite nod for the kitties.
And that’s not all! She rides calmly in the car, walks at a
measured pace on her leash (no lunging, plunging or pulling), sleeps all night
long without a peep, and eats neatly and slowly, like a real lady. She even
“swims” sedately: she wades in up to her tummy and stands there to cool off (or
lies down on the step), but hasn’t yet dived in to swim a lap or two.
Katie Belle has one health issue: cataracts. She’s blind in her
left eye, due to a mature cataract, and has an “immature” cataract in her right
eye. The only effective treatment is (elective) surgery. For now, she’s on
non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drops long term, to ward off inflammation and
discomfort; and she’s taking a special “eye vitamin,” too: OcuGLO tabs, which
contain 12 different antioxidants, including grapeseed extract, lutein, and
Omega-3 fatty acids (the GLO in the name).
Foster dad says: “Katie Belle is a great companion, in the home or
out in the field. I think she would do fine in any home—but she definitely
prefers to be indoors, by your side.”
