Jefferson
Jefferson, age 10-12
MATCHED
Yes, the veterinarian thinks he’s over ten years old, but
obviously no one told Jefferson (and don’t you go telling him).
The word that best describes him is “spry.”
In the yard, he trots over to a clump of grass to relieve himself in a
ladylike squat. He’s all boy, but he
doesn’t have the need to be all macho about it.
Another good word for Jefferson is “amazing.” He jumped
right into the back of the car and rode quietly home.
He walked into the house like he’d been there his whole life.
He went out in the backyard and took care of business.
He crashed on the floor with the rest of the crew.
He patiently waited for dinner.
He didn’t scarf down his food and he didn’t beg for more.
He even slept peacefully through a couple of hours of being left alone in
the house, with access to all kinds of trouble.
As you can tell, he’s very adaptable. He fit himself into
the household immediately. He barely
looked at the cats, who both rolled their eyes at him, thinking, “oh no, not
another dog.” He also barely noticed
the 2 dogs who were busy sniffing every inch of him.
He really only wanted to be next to people. In fact, he has no clue about
the concept of personal space. His
space is as close to a person as he can get!
It can be a bit difficult to walk when you have a 73-pound dog right in
front of you! Luckily he doesn’t get
up on the furniture, or you might have a 73-pound dog in your lap every time you
sat down.
Jefferson’s more of a lover than a player.
He passes right by all the toys and balls and stuffed animals that are
strewn around the house and goes right for the lovin’.
He’s an attention hog for sure.
If he could talk (or sing), he’d be singing Barry White and whispering
sweet nothings into your ear.
Stay tuned for lots more from Mr. Jefferson.
He was singing the blues before he got to GRR, but I have a feeling he’ll
be dancing a jig once his heartworm treatment is over

Independence Day had a
personal meaning for
His foster mom
says, “What a sweetheart! After
only a few hours at my house, I know that this guy should be easy to adopt.
He not only gets along with my 2 dogs, but he gets along with cats too!
I couldn't help but take a few pictures to pass along.
He was also great in the car.
And housebroken. And lay
quietly while I brushed out his mats.
And wants to be right next to me.”
