Scooter, age 2
AVAILA
Hi, I am Scooter! My
family called the GRR Hotline to say they were moving out of town in like 15
minutes, so the rescue folks pulled many strings and I “scooted” right into the
vet & then to my foster home. Whew!
My foster family
says I am more of a “Tank” than a “Scooter.” They also say I move more like a
lion than a dog—which I guess means that I am regal and agile. I haven’t been
able to tell my foster family much, but I do think they are catching on that I
wasn’t in the house all that much up until now… but boy, do I like this
indoor-living life! They have these glorious things called couches, plus those
beds my foster family sleeps in—seem like they were made especially for me to
lie around on. Plus, I have discovered toys! At first I didn’t know what they
were, but now I love them, especially the ones that squeak.
You’d think a
super-handsome guy like me would love getting brushed, but my foster mom says
that grooming me is still a work in progress! I keep confusing that brush with a
toy and trying to grab it out of her hand.
I am still
learning to walk on a leash and really like to make noise when I see other dogs,
especially the small ones. My foster family hasn’t introduced me to any other
dogs besides my foster sister Bella, so I’m not sure if I like them or not. I do
like playing with Bella, though, and she likes to antagonize me, which is fine,
since she’s just a baby herself. We like to play tug-o-war and bite each other’s
ears… you know, typical puppy stuff!
I am a finicky
eater even though I am a big boy. But give me some canned food and gravy and
I’ll eat it all day long. I like kids, and I am not afraid of storms—but
occasionally I AM afraid of my own shadow! Besides that, I just want to be
around humans as much as possible and lie on my back so you can give me some
rubbing. If you are an especially good belly rubber, look me up! And if you
aren’t gone all day long, that would really be a bonus, because I know I would
do better with as much company as possible!
