AVAILA
Tall, blond, healthy, and handsome, with a personality to match,
this guy is a Prize Catch! He came in on Friday, March 23, as an owner surrender
to a local shelter: his family just could not afford to care for him any longer.
With no place to put him, we stashed him at the vet… but our Intake Director
Jacki just didn’t want him to spend a whole weekend kenneled at the clinic when
he’d just spent several days crated at the shelter, too. Luckily, she had an
impeccable plan: she nabbed him on Saturday morning and headed for the annual
picnic.
“This guy is gonna sell himself,” she confidently announced. “Take
my word for it, once I parade him through the picnic one time, the families will
be lining up to foster him.”
It so happened that our super intake team called her on the road to
say a home had stepped up—whew. But there’s no doubt Jacki’s plan would
have worked, because Charles knows how to work a crowd. He greeted every dog he
met, from tiny to jumbo, with a respectful play bow. He greeted every person
with a tail wag and a smile. Not a drop of crabbiness in this boy, just sunny
self-confidence!
It will come as no surprise to hear that his foster family, who had
been waiting quite awhile to adopt, is thinking of making the foster arrangement
a permanent one. Stay tuned!
