Mattie, age 3
MATCHED
Though Mattie has already
been matched to a home, everyone wants to know about this lovely gal, so here’s
the story as far as we know it:
Mattie and her Great
Dane friend were surrendered to the shelter by a very sad gentleman who could no
longer afford to keep his dogs. It was “no room at the inn” that day, so the
staff put out emergency calls to all the breed-specific rescues: “Please come
TODAY if you can!”
We did, and
collected the blonde bombshell—well, actually right now she looks more like a
blonde bomb, weighing in at a whopping 112 pounds. Blood tests revealed a
perfectly normal thyroid level, so it looks like the tried & true method of “eat
less and exercise” is all that’s needed to turn her into a sylph. Poor Mattie
also had infections in both eyes and both ears, but of course she’s being
treated for that and will soon be in the clear.
Mattie is wonderful
with young children and other dogs, but she does like to chase cats, so her new
family is on the alert as far as kitty interactions are concerned.
We’re hoping to get
some “after” shots in a few months showing Mattie looking slim, trim, and
bright-eyed!

With rings on her
fingers, and bells on her toes,
She shall have music
wherever she goes!
Just check out
beautiful Mattie after a luxurious spa day. She might not have bells on her
toes, but with her perfectly coiffed platinum fur, girly hair bows, and sparkly
heart tag she is definitely singing “I feel pretty, oh so pretty!” That smile
says it all.
