MATCHED
Holiday has been matched to her forever home, but every GRR dog deserves her place on the website!
It seemed that the little dog was really in the wrong place at the wrong time—running stray down a busy street, after dark on Christmas night.
But in fact, Holiday turned out to be in just the right place at just the right moment—when a rescue-minded gentleman was driving past. His mom, herself a long-time dog rescuer, sent us an e-mail: “My son was leaving our house to drive home when he spotted this gorgeous little Golden running down the main street. He promptly called me, turned around, and came to pick me up so we could try to help her. She ran like the wind, and we stayed close, driving slowly after her… finally, when she stopped for a moment, I got out of the car. I called to her and she ran at first, but then stopped and came back. I sat quietly on the sidewalk and she came up to me and licked my hand and cowered down. She is completely sweet and precious!” And safe at last! With her dark gold fur, petite build, and glow-in-the-dark sparkly white smile, Holiday just can’t help melting your heart.

“Lost dog” ads and a shelter stay didn’t turn up an owner—and soon Holiday was a GRR dog, our very last Golden of 2011. Even better, she was able to move right in with a family who’d already adopted a GRR dog during the summer and were on the lookout for another. It’s working out perfectly. Her new mom says:
Holly has settled in as if she knew she belonged here! She follows Stanley everywhere and
he's loving being the the big brother. They are inseparable. They spend the day playing, snoozing and generally just being together. She's getting to know the kitties. Darlene, our eldest Statescat, has laid down the law and Holly has happily (as in tail-waggingly) accepted. Ginger, our youngest cat, wraps herself around Holly (Ginger LOVES Stanley) & Holly just grins—even when Ginger's tail smacks her in the nose.
Holly knows SIT and does so on command at dinner time.
Thanks again for all you do! We're madly in love and can't thank you enough for the joy you've brought to our lives—in two golden bundles!
