Taxi has been matched to his forever home, but every GRR dog deserves his place on the website!

Next stop, forever home!

His name suits him to a T, because this young guy is a travelin’ man. First he went stray and wound up at a shelter down south; then he hitched a ride into San Antonio for a brief stay; then he continued north to Austin. Somewhere in his adventures, he may actually have been hit by a taxi (or other vehicle!), because his right thighbone has an old fracture which wasn’t surgically repaired—it healed on its own, a long time ago, and only occasionally makes its presence known in a slight “hitch” in his stance. (He has a pellet from a pellet gun in his hip, too.)

But lucky Taxi’s roaming days are behind him—he’s heading off to a wonderful new life. The only road trips he’ll be taking in the future will be as a passenger! (And he does enjoy those car rides. “Sure beats wandering down the side of the road,” says Taxi.)

Taxi is on the small side, so at first we thought he might be just a year old—but the vet figures more like two or three, and that fits with his fairly calm demeanor in the house. No crate needed for this boy! The shelter had him kenneled with other dogs &r reported “no issues” – and in fact he’s excellent with other dogs of all ages.  He is friendly & nice, and always ready for a game of tug.

Clever Taxi is a CHAMPION COUNTER SURFER.  He can even open loosely closed doors with an agile snout-and-paw flip, and was on the point of chowing down on a bag of food he’d neatly torn open when one of his foster brothers spoiled the party by alerting dad: “Bark! Bark! Help! This new dog is eating all the food!!” Busted! The food was confiscated and the cabinet was firmly secured. (:

Taxi is a cuddler and likes nothing better than to join his folks on the sofa. He’s a smartie and will be going to training classes with his new mom. He’s  a great little guy and is starting out the new year in the best way possible – with a bright & brand-new life.
