A BOUQUET OF SPRING FLOWERS —— JUST IN TIME FOR FALL!!
Buttercups, sweetpeas, violets and jasmine…. in SEPTEMBER? That’s exactly right! Not as unusual as it sounds when you take into account that THESE pretty blossoms are adorable Golden puppies. All four girls were brought to the same South Texas shelter as strays, but beyond that, we don’t have a clue where they came from… or even if they all came from the same place. (Maybe from a backyard breeder clearing out the excess “inventory”?) They’re all young, but two of them (sisters Buttercup and Sweet Pea) are tiny, just 7 or 8 weeks old. Fine-boned, dainty Violet is a bit older, maybe 10 to 12 weeks; and Jasmine is the oldest, at 4 or 5 months.
The poor girls needed a bath in the worst way, which they soon got—after which they smelled just as flowery-fresh as their names and looked too cute for words—as you can see!
Violet is also a love, and so cute with her pensive eyes and long, soft ears. She will put the two tiny ones in their place if they pounce on her too much, but doesn't get ugly with them. She’s very people-oriented and loves, loves, loves attention and lying in your lap. She doesn't have that chunky little puppy build; she is much leaner and lankier, and we suspect she may be one of those “mini” size Goldens when she grows up. This little gal is definitely feeling under the weather—she wants to play, but wears out quickly. She doesn’t have much appetite at all, and we wonder if she isn’t anemic; she had lots of ticks on her when she arrived in care. She’ll be going to the vet pronto for diagnostics, and we all hope she’s feeling up to snuff soon.
