Journey

 Journey, age 1 1/2

AVAILABLE SOON

Updated 8/2/11

This young dog’s journey took him to the pound—but happily, the city shelter was just one stop along the way.

Next stop: GRR foster care.

Final stop: Forever home!

And his foster mom says:

Journey will find a new home fast. Happy, energetic, alert, beautiful, smart, affectionate—he is a typical Golden!  He “talks” a lot, actually kind of snorts, probably from excitement.  He wants as much attention as you’ll give him, and barks to get it.  He and my Golden Ryder have had some growling matches but they are doing fine together.  I don't have any worries about leaving them together when I go to work.

Journey doesn't seem to have had much training, but he’s a clever dog and will learn fast. It’s just a matter of getting that puppy brain to focus!  He does have a tendency to try & zip out the door, so that’s something for his new folks to watch out for.

Journey is a healthy guy. His appetite is good and he drinks lots of water. He plays with his dog toys and  hasn't chewed on anything he shouldn't—but he’ll drop a toy if he thinks there’s a chance you’ll pet him. This fellow lives for human attention. It’s easy to fall in love with him!

The perfect final destination for this wonderful young dog will be a home with active, patient owners who look forward to the fun of helping a teenage “work in progress” mature into the best Golden Retriever ever.
