Families with chickens
need not apply… but just about anyone else will probably suit this nice fellow
to a tee. (Well, maybe no cats either, just to be on the safe side.)
Handsome Chance was
turned in to the shelter by his owner due to his penchant for hunting the
family’s chickens. Great with little kids, adored by his owner, but… he killed
chickens, and a rancher can't have that.
We don’t know Chance too
well yet, but what we DO know is all positive! He seems to be a good, solid
Golden.
“Great, small-framed red
guy. Bright, open, lively, cute; seems to know some commands. Has the cutest
facial expressions. Seems real gentle. Didn’t even try to bolt out of the crate
when we got to the vet—he has manners.
“Picked up Chance to
keep him over the weekend. He rode well in the car and met all the dogs without
a problem. He has been very well behaved so far. When you pet him he likes to
take your hand and wrist in his mouth. He is very cute and small. He just really
cracked me up looking at himself in the mirror. I went upstairs to put some
clothes away and I have a full-length mirror in our walk in closet. He walked
around and saw himself and it surprised him and his tail went up and he started
wagging it and then gave a couple of little growls and then a bark and then went
on his merry way exploring the rest of the upstairs. It really was very cute.”
More to come on Chance
in the next week or so.
