LunchBox
Lunchbox, age 5
What’s in a typical
lunchbox? Ho, hum…
baloney on white, an apple, a
couple of cookies, and a juice box. Snore! Luckily, the contents of THIS
gold-plated Lunchbox are a lot more
interesting.
Let’s take a peek:
* A beach towel and
goggles: Lunchie loves to swim and would adore a new home with a cool blue pool
for those hot summer days.
* A greeting card that
says, “Next to you… is my favorite place to be.” Lunchbox
would like to be a lapdog… all 70 pounds of him!
* A snazzy leash: Just in
case you need a hint that Lunchbox would like to head out for a stroll! He loves
walks and floats along like a dream. Gentle, curious, and keeps to your pace.
* A cushy bed: Soft
cushions are great after that hard floor at the shelter. He doesn’t mind sharing
his bed with another dog, either.
* A snack-size bag of dog
biscuits: One never knows when hunger pangs might strike. Fortune favors the
prepared!
* Shampoo, brush, comb,
undercoat rake: Because, as we all know, clothes—er, fur & fluffy
“feathers”—make the man! Lunchbox wants to look his best for his new
family. He knows that regular grooming will keep him gorgeous and mat-free.
… and let’s not forget
the intangibles. This boy has so much Golden love that no lunchbox, no matter
how capacious, could ever contain it. His foster mom says:
Lunchbox, or LB, should
stand for Lover Boy—he is the sweetest dog ever.
And relaxed! He came to our house yesterday after getting his neuter
surgery and he just walked around to check out the rooms and then plopped down
on the dog bed in the guest bedroom.
He greeted my dog gently and with a loose wiggly body, and when I told the two
of them that they couldn’t play yet, they promptly curled up on the bed together
and took a nap. My dog is not a
“lover” normally, so this was all Lunchbox's doing I'm sure!
He's a great dog. I think he’d
fit in anywhere—but he does like to be #1 attention-getter,
so maybe another dog that was also a total love sponge might not be the
perfect match. He’s a bit clumsy
from what I’ve seen and might bump little kids over, but he’s very
gentle.
Lunchbox
will be ready for his new home just as soon as his exercise restriction
after his neuter surgery is completed. He’d love to meet you for lunch, of
course… or at the pool… or anywhere!
