Pickles
Update 5/10/11
Miss Pickles looks beautiful! And it’s not just skin deep. She’s sweet and affectionate and well-behaved… but every good pickle has a little spice & vinegar along with the sugar, and Pickles does have some tricks up her sleeve. She likes to chew through leashes and has no respect for baby gates! This tiny Houdini just slips around, under & through and joins the rest of the household. Luckily she’s excellent loose in the house and gets along with everybody.
In two weeks, she’s added a few much-needed pounds. She could still gain a pound or two, but no more. She’s meant to be tiny.
More updates soon!

Pickles, age 1
AVAILABLE SOON
Once Pickles was
settled in comfortably with her pups, we had time to take a much closer look …
and to ask ourselves, “Can such a tiny girl really be a Golden?” We really don’t
know what else to call her! But a healthy weight for Pickles will still be under
35 pounds, so we know there’s some smaller breed in her family tree. Her foster
mom says, “Pickles is very fine-boned; compared to her, my three Goldens look
like giant beasts! I have her baby gated in the kitchen, breakfast, family room
area, but she’s so small she can squeeze under the gates & explore rest of the
house.”
Personality-wise,
though, Pickles is as Golden as can be. She is very, very sweet and loves to be
close and get pets. “She watched my dogs closely at first around her pups to
make sure they were okay, but when my dogs sniffed the babies and walked off,
Pickles decided they were all fine and would not hurt her family. She’s an easy
girl. She is learning to sit for treats.
She may be housebroken already, as she hasn’t had any accidents after her
baby-gate breakouts—and when we go outside, she potties right away. She sticks
to you like glue, does not bark, is a bit timid, & hardly jumps up.
She is not a bolter. Pickles
will be the perfect dog for someone who wants an affectionate, attentive, very
pretty, very small almost-Golden.”
Now who WOULDN’T want that?
Pretty Pickles will be
ready for adoption in mid-May.
