Freya

Freya has been matched to her forever home and is not available, but be on the lookout for more like her!
It’s not the first time we’ve seen it… the family packed up what they wanted and drove away, leaving everything they DIDN’T want at the curb—including the family dog. In this case, the dog was just a baby, not even 3 months old. Luckily, the property manager came by within a day or so, and the bold girl immediately approached him for help. He promptly rang up a dog-loving friend: “Do you have room at home for a puppy?”
She did! And soon the little Golden girl was safe. She got a suitably bold & impressive name, too: Freya, after the Norse goddess, leader of the Valkyries, famed for her valor and beauty. Unfortunately, while the human members of the family couldn’t have been more delighted with the charming new addition to the household, the resident cats were NOT amused. A week went by, with the kitties getting grumpier and more resentful by the day, and GRR got a hotline call: “The cats were here first, so I feel like I have to put them first. Can you find a home for Freya?”
In fact, we found a home a lot faster than we expected. The plan was to bring Freya into town on a Friday night, overnight her at a GRR home, and then shuttle her to the vet on Saturday and board her there while we looked for a foster home. However… the “layover” home called first thing Saturday: “We’ll just foster her ourselves. No need to board her.” And a few days after that: “You know, we would like to adopt her. She is SO smart and we think she will be great at agility when she gets bigger, too.”
Some matches just make themselves!
