Jumper

Updated 4/7/11

His name is “Jumper” – so he must be as bouncy as a rubber ball, hyper, wild, likely to knock you right down…. Right?  Wrong! Jumper doesn’t jump at all. In fact, he’s a little shy and stressed from all the changes he’s gone through recently…leaving his first home, having neuter surgery, then moving into a new home, all in less than a week.

Jumper and his brother “Fat Boy” grew up together along with their father (mom was actually surrendered to GRR when Jumper was just a baby!). The boys played and played, as puppies do… and as they got bigger and huskier, their wrestling matches got ever more vigorous. They didn’t hurt each other, but when the play growls and body slams began, old Dad thought to himself: “Things are out of hand! I’d better step in and break it up.” And each time Dad waded into the fray, Jumper got the worst of it. When he wound up at the vet’s with bites all over his head and ears, his owner decided it was time to find him a new family.

Jumper is a big, handsome boy with an adorable bear face. The first few days in his foster home, he was almost too nervous to eat, and very timid around the resident Golden—but it only took a little while for him to relax around her. He likes people, and “now he likes to stay close and be petted. He just wants to lie down wherever you are. He’s calm and very well mannered in the house. Sweet & affectionate. Completely trustworthy.  He will need  some slow socialization to help him as he settles into a new life. Too much noise and activity would be frightening for Jumper right now. He'll need a little time to gain confidence and relax. Right now what he needs is a low-key, quiet home with lots and lots of affection.”

Stay tuned for more on Jumper as we get to know him better.
