Gold Nut

Updated 4/20/11

Gold Nut has been matched to his forever home and is not available, but be on the lookout for more like him!

Gold Nut came to GRR under tragic circumstances, when a death in his original family meant he could not longer receive the care he needed.  “He is healthy and handsome and hyper. He will play with anything. He needs someone with lots of time and energy.”

And that is just what Gold Nut got. The lucky dog, now named Gio, gets to go to work with his mom and dad. “He seems to think he is a lap dog, but he will get down when I tell him to.  He likes to sit on the chair beside Carl’s desk, as you see in the photo.  We tell the customers he is waiting for his estimate.”

Gio has a doggie sister, Bella, to help him burn off his energy—and “they can get pretty crazy when they are playing!  They run like crazy chasing each other in the yard.” At his first home, he had a kiddie pool, but now he has a grown-up pool, and he’s still getting used to it: he just sits or lies on the first step so far.

“He’s good in the car,” says his mom, “but I did make the mistake of going through a car wash with him.  He wasn't too thrilled about that; he tried to get in my lap!! It will be interesting to see how he reacts to thunderstorms. We know he doesn’t like the car wash!”

Gio gets out and about every day—a social Golden’s dream! He has already been to the groomer (“she LOVED him so apparently he behaved”) and he  has started training classes (“He is not shy at all. He was a handful, but he DID sit, lie down, and sit again for a good long time.”).

Gio is a typical happy, curious young Golden, and we look forward to hearing about his latest adventures for many years to come!
