Cassidy

Updated 2/22/11

We don’t know much about Cassidy yet, so we’ll all be looking forward to regular reports from his foster family.

What we do know is almost all good. Our GRR intake volunteer said: “This dog is wonderful. He was kenneled between some very hyper & aggressive dogs but he was so mellow.Walked really nicely on the leash. Got in the van and lay down behind my seat and was VERY good unkenneled in the car. He would come up for pets and then lie back down. I am so totally in love with this dog! Almost turned the opposite way from the vet towards my house. Such a doll!”

Add to the above that he’s very handsome & he doesn’t jump! That’s quite a list of great traits for a dog who was found in a shelter.  It makes you wonder how anyone could have possibly let him go.

So what’s the “ALMOST  all good” about? Well… Cassidy is heartworm positive. In fact, he was being held at the shelter for adoption, but when they learned he was HW+, the potential home didn’t want him. GRR had to grab him immediately—he was already past his “out” date and would have been put down the next day. He’s safe now, and will soon be starting his treatment. Once he’s completely healthy again, he’ll be a great addition to some lucky family.  That is, if his foster family doesn’t fall in love with him first!  He sounds almost too good to give up.
