Wolf
Updated 1/15/11
We’ve all heard of wolves in sheep’s clothing… but have you ever met a lamb in Wolf’s clothing? Now you have! This big guy came to us from a local shelter in December, and they needed to place him fast… he kept on jumping the 4-foot fence in the kennel run and heading down the street. Luckily he was soon in GRR custody, where he got a shampoo, a check-up (he needed meds for a bladder infection) and a nice warm foster home.
Here’s more:
Hi. My name is Wolf. I am big and tall and a very handsome guy! My foster parents like to call me Wolfy, I think they think it’s cute. I’m an extra-large boy who likes to cuddle. I'll walk by you and just slap my head against you just to say “hi” and snuggle. I really like the couch and bed and, when I want to relax, that’s the first place I head to. I'll lie there on my back with all fours up in the air when it’s time to get some real shut-eye. I am very well-behaved, though sometimes I do jump up out of excitement—but I'm quickly learning that that's not what people like. I will eat food out of your hand so gently, but if other animals get around my food dish then I can be just a little possessive.
I love taking walks and will walk well on the leash after we get started & I burn off a little energy. I listen very well and only need to be told once or twice what to do before I learn it for good; my foster parents call that “easily trainable.” I definitely know the words “no” and “out” -- my foster parents use “out” very quietly now when I’m in the kitchen and I know to walk out of the kitchen while they’re cooking (but that food smells soooo good). They never give me table scraps, so I don’t beg either. I love kids and other animals and hope I can find a good home with both!
