Rascal Rassmatazz

One day in late November, look who turned up at a local shelter:

Tiny yet bold, the adorable fluffball had been found simply walking down the street, sporting an itsy-bitsy collar and nothing else. He was homeless and hungry—but, being a true Golden,  he knew just what to do. Namely, march right up to the first person you see and rely on the kindness of strangers! His trust was rewarded, because upon receipt of this picture you can bet we broke a leg rushing to the shelter to see Mr Cutie-pie in person. Such a minuscule  pup deserved a nice long name to balance things out, so he quickly became #10-163 GRR’s Sweetheart of the Shelter Rascal  Razzmatazz… but of  course he has a nickname, too, namely “Raz.”

Raz soon found himself safe in GRR “paws,” and stopped for a few days at a “stash house” so he could have a complete check-up at the vet’s. As you can see, he had a blast partying with the big boys. “Shy” is not in his vocabulary!

Soon Raz was ready for a longer-term foster home. He is a very smart puppy! His foster mom couldn’t praise him enough: “So easy going, goes with the flow, loves new things. He is very tolerant and responds well to redirection.  This little guy is so easy! He is happy, loves to play, loves to run and jump up on the couch to give you kisses, then is off  again to find someone to play with. He loves to cuddle. His energy level is appropriate for a puppy and he is surprisingly calm for the most part. He has learned to sit and is very proud about that. He likes to show it off. And as for leash walking, wow, this is one of our brags.  He is AMAZING on a leash for a puppy his age. He accepts it right away, does not pull, does not freak out when you put it on him.  He is easier to walk than my other two because they still want to pull to get ahead of each other. I love walking Rascal and it looks so cute for a little guy like him to be walking so well on a leash. We get comments all the time about how well he does!”

Before leaving foster home #1, Raz helped to decorate the house for Christmas:

Then it was on to foster home #2, where as usual Mr Personality took everything in stride. A seasoned traveller already, he did great on the car trip from San Antonio to Austin and fit right in with his latest set of foster brothers.

This great pup is going to make a wonderful Christmas present for the right puppy-savvy home!
