Dark Shadow

He sounds like a comic book super hero… Dark Shadow!  He may not be a hero (that we know of), but he is SUPER!  He’s a big boy at 100 pounds, but he’s very gentle.  He’s very good on a leash and doesn’t pull or tug.  He’s perfectly housetrained, and goes to the door when he needs to go out.  He also loves to be brushed.

Dark Shadow has a shoe fetish and loves to walk around with shoes or toys in his mouth.  Luckily, he doesn’t chew them… he just likes to see how many he can get in his mouth at one time.  It can be quite entertaining.

There’s no doubt that he’s a Golden, but the Retriever part seems to be in remission.  He’s not at all interested in balls or sticks and won’t retrieve them.  He also doesn’t seem to have much interest in playing with other dogs… maybe he hasn’t found the perfect playmate yet. 

He just started taking medication for a low thyroid condition and he is becoming peppier.  In general, he’s a pretty mellow fellow and is happy to lie around near the rest of the family.  He sleeps through the night next to the bed.

So, he may not be a super hero, but he sure is lovable.  He asks only 2 things of his new forever home; take him for walks every day and give him lots and lots of love!  He deserves it, and so do you!
