Damsel

Updated 11/28/10

Every damsel in distress needs her knight in shining armor! And THIS one got help from a whole Round Table’s worth of knights and ladies (that is, shelter and rescue volunteers). No shining armor was involved—but there WAS a shining SUV to carry her off to the vet for a much-needed checkup, bath, and manicure.

Here’s what we know about this 5-year-old  girl: she was apparently dumped  in a community north of Austin. She’s nice and friendly and social; knows “sit” and is housebroken, too. She’s just a bit chubby and had incredibly long toenails—so long that the vet waited until she was sedated for her spay surgery to clip them down (she’ll be able to walk a lot more comfortably now!).

With her red fur, cream-colored face and winning smile, Damsel is oh, so cute! Unfortunately, she has heartworms and will be starting treatment soon—but if your household is a calm one & really needs a dainty doggie damsel to complete the décor and round out the family (and what household DOESN’T need a nice Golden?),  let us know! We’re always willing to help our families take their dogs through heartworm treatment.
