Belle Vie

Belle Vie “Buddy” started out as our foster pup, but he ended up fitting our family like a glove.  Unlike his sister Crissy—when adopted she had been used primarily for breeding and was an out of shape 94-pound  sweetie—Buddy came from unknown origins, was recovering from various parasites and weighed in at only 46 lbs. Well, Crissy is a healthy 75 lbs and Buddy is looking great at 55 lbs!  We have learned that you don’t judge these wonderful animals based on first impressions.  It takes a little time and patience.  It’s such a disservice to both you and the dog if you give up too soon.  Buddy is  curious, loveable and friendly; he’s still a baby at 1 1/2  years old, and I can honestly say we couldn’t ask for a better companion!   Gone are all traces of the little guy that wanted to run out the front door or wake us up in the night.  Gone is the pup who wouldn’t let you know when he needed to go outside (told you it takes patience!) Now the dogs both sleep through the night, go on long road trips and bring us hours of laughter and joy.  Crissy seems so much younger and happier having someone to play with—we were worried it would be difficult for her, but we couldn’t have been more wrong (our advice now: if you have an older dog, find another one that doesn’t want to be the boss, and everyone will be happy).

Are they great watchdogs? …probably not… he thinks the broom is an instrument of death and she would sell belly rubs on a street corner if we’d let her.  We love them though—and they did bark at the UPS man the other day, so there’s hope!

Thank you GRR for making lightning strike twice and allowing Buddy to become a Pappin!
