Prince

Updated 7/06/10

His owners moved away and left him, so a neighbor brought Prince to the shelter. Exactly 4 years old (she knew his birthday—June 30, 2006), he scored a true Home Run Rating with our evaluator:  “I felt comfortable with Prince from the moment I met him.  He is a really nice guy.  He's a leaner—liked leaning on me or standing at my side. A real A #1 friend & companion.  He appears to have a rock-solid temperament.  Great dog! He has had some training, too. He was fine on a leash, pulls for a few minutes, then relaxes. Seems to know sit, lie down & come.  He does not jump up.”

When we collected him from the clinic, the vet said simply, “He lives up to his name.”

His foster family thinks so, too. He’s reliably houstrained, good with other dogs, fine left loose in the hosue when nobody is home. He doesn’t care about thunderstorms. One thing to be aware of – Prince doesn’t think that babygates are meant for HIM. He can leap over them like a gazelle. (Surely his foster family didn’t REALLY intend for him to stay out of their bedroom at night? After all, he is an excellent cuddler.)

“He really is a perfect dog!! Outgoing, high energy in morning, excellent behavior both inside and outside... likes swimming, and I am sure he would enjoy a jog. He would be a true delight for anyone who wants a cuddly boy who will love them forever.”

… and that sounds like everyone!
