Bosco

Is he ever a peach!  Should be ready for adoption mid-June to late June, anyone interested better get their application in. If we didn’t already have 3 dogs, he would be a keeper. He is such an easygoing, gentle guy, with such a solid temperament, I’m sure he’d be fine with kids age 10 and older. He’s fabulous with our three girl Goldens, also visits though the fence with neighbor dogs & is non-reactive when they talk trash. He loves to retrieve, will give back until tired or bored then takes the toy to his bed to let you know he’s done fetching for a while.

I feel like we finally have a foster dog with an “average” energy level! Can’t beat that 3+ age group for really nice dogs.  Very social, sweet guy, loves people  and other dog buddies.  Bosco is just what a Golden Retriever is supposed to be!

 “Got a call today from the shelter, they have a male Golden, est. age 2 to 3 yrs. old. Still in stray section even though his hold time is up, no room is adoption section.  Said he was coughing and she would like to get him out of there. They will let  me in at 9 AM for eval & photos.”

And that was that! By 10 AM young Bosco was on the road to the clinic—after the shelter staff bid him a fond farewell. “Such a calm guy! We really like him.” Early indications are that he’s good with cats: he took a peek into the kitty room at the shelter and didn’t even turn a whisker. Unfortunately, his check-up brought the unwelcome news that Bosco is heartworm positive – but in just a couple of months, the treatment will be all behind him. Meanwhile, he’s getting high marks from his foster family. “Friendly, stable Golden. Loves to play fetch. Housebroken.”

Bosco ice cream syrups were very popular when I was growing up. Most
remember the chocolate flavor, but the company also made strawberry and my personal favorite, caramel.  Bosco is that same caramel color and that’s how he got his name.

Bosco was picked up stray. He is so happy and good natured that I can't believe his owner didn't look for him at the shelter.

Our Goldens like him but haven't been able to play with him yet, since he was under exercise restriction after neuter surgery and will soon he having heartworm treatment.
