Lili
Six-year-old
Lili came to GRR when her family could no longer care for her. The chubby tub
was badly in need of a fitness regimen, and now she is down to 80 pounds and
still slowly paring off the excess avoirdupois, ounce by ounce. A svelte & sleek
glamour girl is emerging!
The owner told us that Lili enjoyed playing with laser pointers, and her foster
mom has noted that she likes to chase light – moving shadows, reflections on the
wall, anything. “I wouldn’t put her in a home with lots of crystal or stained
glass!” But what Lili loves way more than pursuing those interesting lights is
KIDS. She LOVES children and just wants to be near them. She’ll play with them
if they are willing, but otherwise she just settles down nearby (though watch
out if there’s a board game on the floor – she’ll walk right across it!).
Lili is totally housebroken and completely reliable indoors. She grew up with
another Golden, but she doesn’t really play or interact much with other dogs in
her foster home—it’s the people who matter to her. As far as toys go, she has
fun playing with balls—she bats them around like a cat. It’s funny!
Occasionally Lili gets a bit fed-up with her diet program and snitches food from
the counters, so keeping anything tasty (that is, any food at all) well out of
canine reach is a good idea.
What’s the best home for Lili? A home with kids ages 6 to 8 or older; a family
who will keep up with trimming Lili down and taking her for walks so that she
gets fitter; and just about anyone who wants a calm, steady friend & sweet
companion.
