Tiger
Not even two years old (his birthday comes in May), Tiger was brought to the shelter by owners who had just moved into town from out of state and could no longer afford his care. “Money is tight… we have to make an apartment down payment… cannot afford him.” You can tell Tiger was well loved by his first family, and he left the shelter with a GRR volunteer just two hours after arriving there! First impressions were: “sweet, gentle, friendly; lovely personality; very polite young fellow. The shelter staff liked Tiger very much during the brief time they had him.”
His foster mom says simply, “I think he’s awesome.”
Guess we could stop right there! But to elaborate: He’s totally housebroken. He’s happy and calm with kids. He jumps a little, but it’s very light and gentle and easily corrected. He plays well with other dogs. He is fine with cats – starts to chase, but then runs away from them! He doesn’t pull on lead (though he does zig-zag). He retrieves (and brings it back—though you do have to take the ball out of his mouth).
So, does this paragon have any flaws?? Well, he DOES counter-surf a bit. And he’ll poke his nose into the trash if he finds an unattended basket. And he did nibble on his crate pad a bit when crated… but now he’s baby-gated when nobody is home and hasn’t chewed on anything.
His foster mom says, “I think he would adapt to any home, but he seems to be happy with the other dogs and our children. He even sleeps in their rooms on some nights.”
