Bob 09-073
Winston/Bob

Update 10/11/12:

Winston aka Bob is available again.  Watch this space as we get an updated story and pictures for this lovely guy!

Updated 5/24/10

Here are a few more pictures of Bob for his web page. These were taken when he got home from a long walk. I want to make sure people who want to meet Bob know what they are in for. When Bob finishes at the water bowl, it's like Lake Travis in the kitchen! Neat freaks need not apply. :o)  I keep plenty of towels handy to mop up the mess!

On the other hand, if they have a pool, Bob loves to swim!

Bob 09-073

“He is a perfect boy. I cannot stress enough what a great dog he is. He is just sweet, wants attention, wants to be loved, wants to please you. Rolls on his back almost right away when you come home from work.” That’s what Bob’s surrendering owner had to say about this great young guy! He came to GRR when the family’s new Golden puppy would not stop picking on him. Yes, that’s right—the little Golden girl is Miss Feisty, and: “She hangs off his face and actually makes little cuts & he yips in pain, she takes his toys, she shoves him away from his food bowl and eats his food. I keep waiting for him to snap and correct her but he just won't do it.” The pup headed off to board & train Boot Camp, but even so, Bob’s owner felt the pattern had been set and Bob needed to move to a household where nobody would bedevil him.

Now he’s living with a couple of older Goldens, and all is well—he plays nicely with his doggie foster brother & sister. He’s calm with kids and loves to be petted. He’s reliable loose in the house when nobody is home (this fellow does NOT like to be crated, and he does not need it). He does enjoy nabbing things like pillows, towels or shoes, toting them around the house, then leaving them out for his foster mom to find! On leash, Bob does pull like mad, but a Gentle Leader is helping out in that department.

His foster mom says, “Bob will be a great Golden for any family who has experience with big, active dogs. Other dogs would be fine. Children would be fine, too, just not tiny ones. Bob is a bit clumsy and he might knock over a small child without even knowing it! He’s an outgoing, friendly dog who snoozes when nothing is going on, but he does like to roll around and act silly, too.”
