Susie

Update 1/8:
Just a note to let everyone know that Susie
went to the vet on January 5th for a check-up, and she is now HEARTWORM FREE!
She’s ready to move to her forever home any time. Be the first to get in line!
Update 12/17:
Go Susie! She had her second HW treatment
on December 16. At the same time, she had a big growth removed from one of her
hind legs. It doesn’t look like anything scary, thank heavens, but she sure did
need a lot of stitches. That’s why she is wearing an elegant Elizabethan collar
for a few days… just in case she gets any ideas about removing the stitches
herself, before the official date of December 29.
On January 5, she will have another blood test to make sure the heartworms are
gone for good—but don’t wait until then to meet this lovely girl! She would love
to visit with you now and make arrangements to move into your home for the New
Year. She is looking forward to continuing her slimming campaign—and by the time
she’s ready for her new family, she’ll be willing and able to help you keep that
New Year’s resolution about getting more exercise.

Why did Susie’s owners give her up? We’ll
never know… they didn’t leave much information when they dropped their
7-year-old girl off at the shelter. But this lovely Golden gal is taking all the
changes in stride. She’s a cheerful, portly miss who just loves attention. Alas,
she’s yet another recent intake with heartworms, so she’ll be in foster care for
at least a couple of months while we take care of that problem. Watch this space
for more news as we get to know Susie better!
