Murray

Updated 2/22/11

“Me me me me me!  Yep… it’s all about me!”

Murray likes to be the center of attention.  OK… not just the center… he wants to have all of your attention!  He almost can’t stand someone else getting attention, and when he runs out of patience, he’ll run over to get in on the action.

He loves to play ball and he’ll usually bring it back and drop it.  He likes to wrestle and play tug-of-war too.  Inside, he’ll play with a rope or a tennis ball, and he likes to shred his soft toys.  He gets along well with some dogs (especially his older “brother,” Mattie), but he does seem to have a jealous streak and can growl at others.

Murray still pulls on a leash, but he’s gotten much better with the Gentle Leader.  He has lots of energy, so he really needs his walks and play time.   After that, he’s happy to lie down for petting, brushing, loving, and cuddling.  Remember how he used to sneak onto the bed after the lights were out?  He now openly sleeps on the bed, cuddling all night long.

Murray is a great dog!  With some obedience training and learning how to be a good canine citizen, he’ll be incredible!  He has the looks, the lovability, the loyalty, and the intelligence.  All he needs is YOU!  No, he’s not perfect… yet!  But he definitely has the potential.

Tug of war is his favorite game, especially with another dog!

Murray is a spunky 6 1/2-year-old who will play with toys, balls, ropes, or his older “brother” Mattie (or all of them at the same time).

He is completely housebroken and is free to roam in the house.  He is a great watchdog, because if he hears anything, he will get up and investigate.   He’s a light sleeper too, so he wakes up when he hears a noise.

He does have a few rough edges that can be smoothed out with a little training.  He gets pretty excited when someone comes over or when his “parents” come home from work.  He pulls somewhat when he walks on a leash, and he’s a little quick to grab a treat.

Murray recently discovered his foster mom’s bed.  He’s pretty sneaky too, because he waited until she turned off the light to jump up and sleep for the night!

Murray is an outgoing dog who is high energy.  He would do best in a home with another dog so they can play and wrestle together.  He’ll need someone who can play vigorously with him and burn off some of that energy.

He has been calm with children and has had no recent exposure to cats.  And, last but not least, he is one heck of a good-looking boy!
