Barney

..no joy in whoville.

Though we only had Barney in our lives a little shy of three years, he embedded himself deeply into our hearts and became an essential part of our lives. He was a big teddy bear of a dog; kids loved him and cats cuddled with him. He was always happy but was happiest when his mommy was by his side – whether it was on the sofa, out for a walk around the lake, catching a nap or cruising in his jeep.

He was sweet, loving, gentle and asked for nothing in return for his loyalty other than non-stop attention and an occasional treat.

Photo 2 – Barney and his GRR sister, Jennie, hanging out in Barney's Jeep. Whenever we would open the back of the Jeep, Barney would come lumbering along, toss his big ol' head and island-size front paws into the jeep, and, with tail wagging, would wait patiently for someone to bring up the rear. Though he got around fine, his hind quarters were not up to “hopping” into the jeep.

Photo 3 – One the the rare occasions when Jennie would let Barney have a toy.
