Dear GRR,
In memory
of Bailey
In October
1999 we adopted a beautiful young girl by the name of Robin from GRR. It was love at first sight for us and for
her. Her foster parents told us during
our visit that other’s had come to visit her and she was cordial to them but
after a sniff or two she would return to her favorite spot in the yard with an
expressive “I’ll pass on these visitors” look on her face! When we met, there was an instant bond
between us. Her foster mom was “wowed”
that Robin took to us so instantly and so intently. Well, long story short, she became our
adopted daughter and joined our three sons in everything including family
wrestle nights! When she became part of
our family, we thought she looked more like a “Bailey” so we renamed her and
the look on her face was incredible. As
if to say, “Yes, I like that name!”
Bailey
especially bonded with our youngest son who was three at the time. The two of them had a special language just
between them and to see them play and “talk” to each other would warm your
heart. She was his compadre,
best friend, defender and protector. She
stood by his side for 10 loving years and last June we lost our beautiful girl
and sadly…his best friend. It is just
now that we can write to you about our loss.
He still grieves for her but we know she is no longer in pain and that
the years she spent with us were good years for her…full of love, adventures
and family. She knew she was loved from
the very first day and it seemed she never tired of our love and attention as
we spoiled her.
She brought
so much love into our lives and we hope we made her journey a better one. In memory of her, Stuart and I put these
pictures together and thought we would share it with you.
My
best friend
She loved having my Stuart and our
friends hang out in her pad!
Quick…before
mom comes!
Pretty please with gravy on top!!

Don’t even think about it!

Yep, they’re doing it right.
